Melodic Revolution Top 10 Mistakes Artists Make

by David Hooper If you want to get a record deal, get people to your shows, or sell music like crazy, the answer isn’t some kind of “magic pill” website that you post your music on, blindly sending out a bunch of demos, or anything to do with having good music… although good music certainly helps. The answer is to develop a mindset that naturally attracts people to what you’re doing as well as an understanding of how the music business game is played. As you develop as a person, your music car… Continue

Snake Oil Records/Recording Review: BENNYFIT FOR HOSPICE @ THE PLAYING FIELD 9/12/09

Review: BENNYFIT FOR HOSPICE @ THE PLAYING FIELD 9/12/09 This is the most important review I will ever write. It's emotional and I hope I deliver. I've been blessed for months by having the opportunity to write for The Tin Whisker website. It's given me the privilege to meet so many old and new acquaintances and give them credit for all their accomplishments and a chance to have a little fun. They have in turn embraced me and encouraged me to continue my writing and my attempts at photo journal… Continue

Snake Oil Records/Recording Review: WAYNE "THE TRAIN" HANCOCK @ Plaza Bowl up on The Tin Whisker TheTinWhisker.com

Review: WAYNE "THE TRAIN" HANCOCK @ Plaza Bowl up on The Tin Whisker http://bit.ly/I4QWB Wayne Hancock isn’t your typical country outlaw. He seems quite unassuming at first glance, but he is a man who has undoubtedly lived a life, including being bailed out of jail by Hank III (allegedly), and joining the Marine’s at the age of 18. He has a gaze that is wise but careful and a face that tells a story. Continue

MusicRVA Calling All Reps! Rock Army Music Regional Rep Program

Rock Army Music was formally known as Tour Dates. When Tourdates was bought by Launch in 2000, I who had worked for them rebuilt the site under the name Tourdatenow, and more than half the reps followed me to the new site. Due to circumstances, and health issues, I was forced to take a hiatus, and the website was closed down, but not before purchasing the domain RockArmyMusic. The site had over 6000 visitors before it was even launched in 2001 and I am now in the process of rebuilding this site… Continue
